This Cookie Policy explains how Cowgill Consulting Ltd uses cookies and other storage and access technologies when you visit thefreedomgame.co and related pages operated under the Marie Cowgill and The Freedom Game® brands.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal information more generally.
1. Who we are
The website is operated by:
Cowgill Consulting Ltd
Company number: 16478115
Registered office: 124 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX
Registered in England and Wales.
Privacy and cookie contact: [email protected]
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small pieces of information that may be stored on your device when you visit a website. Websites can also use other technologies that store information on, or access information from, your device.
In this policy, references to cookies include comparable storage and access technologies where relevant, such as pixels, scripts, tags, local storage and similar technologies.
These technologies can support essential website functions, remember preferences, help us understand how the website is used, support embedded media, or measure and improve marketing where permitted.
3. How we use these technologies
Depending on the features and integrations active on the website, we may use storage and access technologies for the following purposes:
· to operate and secure the website;
· to remember choices and cookie preferences;
· to provide forms, booking functions and other services you request;
· to improve the appearance or functionality of the website;
· to understand, in appropriate circumstances, how visitors use the website and improve it;
· to provide embedded video, audio or other third-party content;
· to measure marketing or advertising performance where you have given any consent required by law; and
· to support fraud prevention, technical fault detection and security.
4. Categories of cookies and technologies
Strictly necessary
These technologies are used where they are essential to provide a website function or online service you have requested, or where another applicable legal exception permits their use. They may include technologies used for security, authentication, fraud prevention, form or booking functionality, session management and remembering your cookie choices.
Where an applicable exception applies, these technologies may be used without consent. They should not be used for unrelated secondary purposes.
Preferences and functionality
These technologies may remember choices or adapt how the website appears or functions, for example language, display or device-related preferences.
Where we rely on an applicable legal exception rather than consent, we will provide clear information and a simple, free way to object where required. Otherwise, we will ask for consent before using them.
Analytics and statistical use
We may use analytics or statistical technologies to understand matters such as total visits, page use, user journeys, device types, referral sources, page loading or similar aggregate website-use information.
Where our use falls within an applicable statistical-purpose exception, the information must be used only for eligible statistical purposes with a view to improving the website or service, and a simple, free way to object must be available. Where the use goes beyond that exception, we will obtain consent before the technology is used.
Advertising and marketing
Advertising, retargeting, conversion tracking, audience-building and comparable marketing technologies are not treated as strictly necessary. Where such technologies are used and consent is required, they will not be activated until you have given the necessary consent.
This may include technologies connected with advertising platforms, social-media advertising or conversion measurement.
Embedded and third-party content
Some pages may include content or functionality provided by third parties, such as embedded YouTube videos, podcast or audio players, social-media functionality, forms, booking tools or payment functionality.
Third-party technologies may store or access information on your device. Where consent is required, we will seek consent before activating the relevant non-essential technology. Where a legal exception genuinely applies, we may rely on that exception.
The third party may also process information under its own privacy terms. The current technology schedule below should identify the third parties whose storage or access technologies are active on the website.
5. Consent and legal exceptions
Where consent is required, we will ask for it before using the relevant non-essential storage or access technology.
Consent should involve a clear positive choice. Merely continuing to browse the website is not treated as consent.
You should be able to refuse non-essential technologies as easily as you can accept them, and you should be able to change or withdraw your choices later.
Certain uses may be permitted without consent where a specific legal exception applies. These exceptions are purpose-specific and are not a general permission to use a technology for additional purposes.
Where we rely on an exception that requires a simple means of objecting, we will provide one.
6. Your cookie choices
When you first visit the website, you may be shown a cookie or privacy-preferences tool that allows you to accept, reject or customise non-essential technologies.
Strictly necessary technologies may remain active because the website or requested service cannot operate properly without them, or because an applicable legal exception permits their use.
A persistent Cookie Settings or Privacy Preferences link should be made available on the website so that you can review or change your choices later.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.
7. Browser and device controls
Most browsers and devices provide controls that allow you to view, delete or block cookies and similar storage. Using browser-level controls may affect some website functionality.
Browser settings do not replace our responsibility to obtain consent where the law requires us to do so.
8. Third-party providers
Depending on the website features active at a particular time, third-party providers whose technologies may be involved can include:
· GoHighLevel / LeadConnector, for website, forms, bookings, CRM-connected functionality and related services;
· YouTube / Google, where video content is embedded;
· podcast or audio platforms, where players are embedded;
· analytics providers, where analytics are enabled;
· advertising or social-media platforms, where marketing pixels or conversion tracking are enabled;
· payment providers, where a payment or checkout function is embedded or used; and
· other technology providers clearly identified in the current technology schedule.
Not every provider listed above will necessarily set or access information for every visitor. The current technology schedule should reflect the integrations actually active on the live website.
9. Cookies and technologies on this website
This website is hosted using GoHighLevel / LeadConnector. The community page includes a LeadConnector signup form. Website images are served through the site’s content delivery providers, and typography may load from Google Fonts. Links to videos, podcasts, articles and checkout pages take you to the relevant external service.
The technologies in use can change when features are added or updated. For information about a particular technology or its duration, please contact [email protected].
10. How long cookie choices last
The duration for which a cookie or similar technology remains on your device varies by technology. Some are session-based and expire when you close your browser, while others may remain for a defined period.
The current technology schedule should identify the relevant duration where known.
We may periodically ask you to confirm your choices again, particularly where our technologies or purposes materially change.
11. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy where our website, technology, providers or legal requirements change.
The latest version will be published on the website with an updated date.
Where a change affects the basis on which non-essential technologies are used, we will update the consent or preference mechanism as appropriate.
